What is mediation?

Mediation is a conversation facilitated between at least two interested parties. The discussions require active engagement from everyone. The mediator may be trained, certified, or a licensed attorney. Their role is to remain impartial assisting disputing parties in resolving conflict through communication and negotiation.

Is mediation right for you?

Unlike other forms of resolving conflict, mediation requires interested parties to engage in guided discussions to reach negotiated outcomes. Achieving agreements through conversing with and not at each other is the foundation for successful mediations. In the end, these facilitated discussions by an unbiased third party help all parties willing and able to accept the result (s).

However, there are limitations; mediated outcomes are NOT binding and rely on both parties to adhere to their agreements. If one or more parties choose not to collaborate, cooperate, or engage, then mediation is not the option to resolve the conflict(s).
